I Just got my big red system hooked up and have some leaks. The system will deflate completely in appx. 8 hrs... The front leaks faster than the rear...What is the BEST way to seal the fittings? I believe most of the leaks coming from the tank plugs..These are 10 port tanks and most of the ports are not used but " plugged" with the provided brass caps. I hear no leaks but soap bubbles up on most of the fittings and I am afraid of tightening them too much!! Teflon tape?? Pipe dope?? any help is appreciated!!! Thanks, Trevor

Put teflon tape or pipe dope on all the fittings. The Big Red valves require the pressure in the tank to be higher than the pressure in the bag. If the pressure in the tank drops below the airspring pressure then it will equalize.

You can use any thread sealer you want, I prefer teflon tape. Make sure that you use thread sealer on all of the fittings. You are on the right track with the soapy water, you might also try the bubble solution that kids use - it " sticks" to the plastic line better. Besides that it' s cheap and makes a leak easier to see.

Air Leaks can be a real pain in the butt.

I still have one on the front of my truck and can' t find it. It leaks off after about 12+ hrs, so it is so slow that it makes it hard to find even with the pressure in the shockwave jacked way up. I' ve recut all the cuts on the line with the tubing cutter, checked all the fittings with soap with no luck. It has a 90 degree swival fitting at the shockwave that i haven' t replaced, but I have wondered if there have ever been problems with the shockwaves leaking around the shock body. When it warms up around here I plan on pulling the schock wave out and testing it in a large tub.

The Shockwaves very seldom leak. I would look closer at the fittings.

personally i would use teflon tape. that stuff works miracles :) and its not messy or hard to change fittings or whatever you may need to do some day down the road :)
