Hey guys i just recieved the last bit of my kit and will be starting to install the wires, valves, tanks, and compressors but was wondering if its necessary to run a second battery. I just had my alternator rebuilt to 125 amps. The battery I have now is a red top optima.

I just got my kit setup recently. Im runnin two viar 400 comp. and i have a yellow top battery and it hardly pulls any amps. You shouldnt have to run a second battery

The size/number af batteries you' ll need will be determined by the maximum amount of amperage that all of the electrical components in the car can pull, compared to the maximum amount of amperage the alternator is capable of generating.

Yea, you should be fine unless you have a huge audio system. The Viairs have a max pull of 30amps per.

Well I am running about a 2500 watt system. Ill just wait and see how it goes once its setup, then I can always add.
Thanks for the good answers guys

that stereo system is that peak wattage or rms into the speakers total? If your system has 2500 watts total RMS into the drivers(speakers you had better add an isolator system and a second identical battery, do not mix battery sizes or types) the reason is that the smaller battery will limit the system.
If that is the peak amount made by all amps totaled together then you probably wont need the second battery.
I prefer a battery for cranking and running the car and the isolated one for the stereo then if the second stero battery get depleted you can still start and run the car and the isolator will let the second battery charge back up with out maxing out the alternator and over heating it.

Yeah actually that is at peak wattage, I knew I would need to add an isolator is I were to run a second battery but I was just checking if it were necessary to spend the cash on another battery. Thanks
