Has anyone successfully installed air springs on the front of a 97-00 Dodge Dakota with stock wheels/tires? I have spent nearly 20 hours trying to relocate the front shocks and there is no way I can find a place to mount them without losing the turning radius, or making some costly or safety-compromising modifications. The resort is to spend close to an additional $1000 for the ShockWave which I would rather not do. I cannot install offset wheels.

A lesser problem is also the relocation of the bottom bump stop. Any tips?

George,
It is pretty typical to lose a little turning radius with any CoolRide kit, so you might just have to extend the steering stop a little or just don' t turn that much. As for the Shockwaves they are only about $300 more than the CoolRide.

I am installing the same kit on my ' 02 Dakota this Saturday. If I have any suggestions I will post them regarding the shock mount, as I am also using the stock 16 inch wheels until I get 19' s.

I have read alot that the bumpstop in the front on the Dak' s needs to be removed, or ground down alot, and I hear its a huge pain.

I will have pics of my intall and the installation up as soon as I finish, and I will post the url.
