I' ve got Shockwaves on the front of my 62 Belair with upper and lower control arms. Can I jack the car up and let the tire hang? I wanted to make sure I wouldn' t be damaging my shockwave. I' m pulling the motor out of the car and didn' t want to have to go to a shop and put it on a drive on lift. I looked all over your website and couldn' t find any info on this.

Thanks.

once you get the jack under the car, deflate the shockwave(s) and then continue to jack it up. Just the weight of the wheels hanging on them shouldn' t hurt a thing, but it is a good idea to releive the pressure.

Thanks 1badPT, that does sound like it would work, I' d like to see what ART has to say too just because I want to make sure I don' t void my warranty in anyway.

It won' t hurt anything. The shock is designed to handle that weight. You could leave them air up and it won' t hurt anything, but it is a good idea to deflate all the air springs.
