I programed the computer on my air ride system to set my ' 98 Sdime at ride height when I start it. Sometimes it works and other times it just lays it on the ground. What could cause this?

Did you program the preset 2 to ride height? Make sure the Air Ride Button is lit up Blue and all manual buttons. That' s what the system is preprogrammed for as far as I can see. Just wasn' t sure if you were hitting one of the other buttons or not. I can' t say I' m an expert on all this YET, lol but I' m learning, even though I have my own problems.

All the lights are on. Everything flashes to tell me that it has been preset. If the air tank wasn' t holding 150psi, would it not allow the computer to function properly?

I do believe that if the pressure safety feature is on, then the system will deflate all bags when the tank pressure drops below a certain amount. Ever notice all the buttons flashing when trying to infalte? That usually indicates low tank pressure. I' m no professional, but since playing around with it I did learn that part. To find out if the saftey feature is turned on or off you' ll have to check it.
There should be a section in your manual you got about " Turning the Low Pressure Safety Override feature on/off"
This is how mine works.
Press and hold the Air Ride logo till it turns blue while holding the preset #2 at the sametime.
After the tank pressure appears inthe upper left corner of your display, press presets 1 & 3. You should see two numbers upper left and upper right and it' ll either say on or of under each of those.
The numbers on the right indicate the lowest tank pressure setting. Usually it' s 135 and if it' s set to of that means the safety feature isn' t working. Just use the +/- to change it to on, so when the tank pressure drops below 135 it' ll kick on.
The numbers on the left are how fast or slow the system inflates/deflates. 1 is slowest and 5 is fastest. This to can be changed to on/off.
Then change wait 10 seconds to resume or press the Air Ride button to return to the main display.
Not sure if that' ll help or not, like I said I' m learning myself.

Let me make this clearer the computer works fine. If tank pressure is to low, will that not let the ECU set the ride height properly?

If the tank pressure is low the ride height feature will not adjust to the entire preset ride height, UNTIL the tank has enough pressure to adjust the height.
That' s why I was mentioning the low pressure override feature, if it' s set to ON and 135 psi, then you shouldn' t have the problem of the tank going too low and not being able to get to the preset ride height on start up. If the tank drops below 135 psi, it' ll kick on.

I am using the ARC4700e Big Red kit and I' m not sure that it has that function.

I am using the Ride Pro e computer system without the optional remote so it doesn' t have a second preset.
