hi, i am new to this forum and to air ride technology and was wondering what bags i should use on my 1951 merc 4 door? i want it to be able to sit on the ground, with no clearance between the rockers and the ground, when i lower it. if anyone could help, that would be great! thanks

I know that i' d kill for a 49-51 merc lol
LUCKY!!!
If you want the merc that low (which i can' t imagine anyone not wanting that) then you' re going to have to do cutting. You' ll most likely need to take out the inner fenders and you will have to notch the frame so the axle can move all the way. Now I don' t have a merc infront of me to look at so i can' t give you all the help but you can run any type of system really. Minus the air over leaf. That won' t get you low enough.

thanks for the help, i didn' t know that it would be that much work. i guess i will just get the air bags and take it from there. thanks
anyone else have a 49-51 merc they put air bags in?
We do have a kit specific for the Merc front ends and the leaf rear. I would suggest using a four bar in the back and just plan on eliminating the leaf springs. Does the car still have the OE suspension or has it been modified?

its the original everthing.
If it were me.... I would use our CoolRide kit in the front and our triangulated four link in back. You can also find companies that make kits to raise the spindles on the original control arms or if you resorce enough.... you may be able to come up with a drop spindle. Couple all of that with a four way system and you should be good to go...........
