I know people who run air bags with big ports for fast inflation / deflation dont use shock absorbers. Actually though what im going to do is use a rolling sleeve bag that has like 9" of travel and i dont know of any shocks with 9" of travel that will fit in the space that i have available for shocks on my ride. So whats the ride quality usually like with no shocks on a bagged suspension?

It will be very bouncy, about like a coil spring without shocks. But you have to be careful not to overextend sleeve bags. We typically use the shock to keep it from overextending. If you mount the shocks at an angle it will help get a bit more travel out of them.

Ride Quality with no shocks varies a lot. Sleeve' s are VERY BOUNCY without shocks. If you want to run no shocks then you' d have to run a large convulated bag like a 2600 or larger. Like a Slam RE8. I know a lot of small motored truck people that run a 2600 Slam RE7 upfront with no shocks and it rides smoother then a 2500bag with shocks. Assuming you meant the rear and you' re going to go with a sleeve then you want shocks with it.

Thanks, I actually did more looking and found some shocks with just under 9" of travel that I will be able to get in there without too much more fabrication.

do not run without shocks as you can trash an air bag and loose control of the vehicle too.

I agree it is better to run bags with shocks and especially a sleeve. on the other hand you can' t trash a doubleconvulated bag in the front of most vehicles because you the control arms lock-up before you can even come close to the degree of pressure to blow something.
