Hi, I have an 86 IROC. I would like to install front and back cool ride kit, with the Ride Pro e2, and the ARC4000e2 compressor system. I would like to install this kit myself in my garage. The question I have is how low could I go with this kit. I would like to be able to park, and lower it enough so that it cannot be towed or driven away without raising the suspension up. With this setup how fast could I go up and down. I am not looking for a really fast system. My main use for this setuop would be to have a smoother ride with good cornering and the ability to reduce the chance of theft due to towing or driving away.
Any information would help,
Thanks alot,
Thomas

Look in the newest issue of Super Chevy, there is an install article in there. It is about 4" lower than factory fully deflated. I don' t like to set up a vehicle so that it can not move fully deflated, it' s a bit of a safety issue. With a standard wheel size you will still have a small gap between the tire and the fender well.

Hi Darren, thanks for the quick reply. I just went out an measured it, and i guess if i went any lowetr than that the subframe would be touching the ground. In the supery chevy article is the camaro dropped fully on the picture? I cant really tell. On my car I have about 2 1/2 - 3 inches between the tire and the wheelwell, I have the stock 16" IROC wheels on there.

Thanks

Yea, I think that is deflated.

Hi, I talked to a guy that has a 91 camaro, and he has air struts in the front of his car. How much would you have to modify the car to get the air struts in? Or is it even worth the time? I' m not sure what the advange is to have an air strut as opposed to a cool ride front + struts. If someone could clear these things up for me I' d appriciate it. Oh and do the struts have more travel?

Thanks,
Thomas

hey,
Just a quick question, what are the dimensions for the 5 gallon tank? would it be overkill to use the 4100 series instead of the 4000 series for a camaro?
Thanks

It would not be over kill it just comes down to how fast you want it to be. We have two different five gal. tanks one is 34" long and 7" Diameter or 20.75" Long and 9.5" Diameter

We do not make an AirStrut for that vehicle. The stuts are too short. The only realy advantage an AirStut has is the billet strut. But if you get the CoolRide kit and upgrade your strut it will be equal.
The guy with the 91, was his name Jeff. We did a prototype AirStrut system on his car. It just didn' t pan out for production.

Yes, I believe his name was Jeff. One more question if you guys dont mind.
If I was to get Spohn Tubular A-Arms with the spring perches would that complicate things any? Or would it still be a bolt in application? Thanks for the quick responses, you guys have been really helpful.

The lower air spring mount is a plate that is shaped to the contour of the stock lower arm. I' m sure it is possible to use the Spohn arms, but you might have to modify this plate of make a new one.

Thanks for all the info, I think I' m going to stick with the stock A arm for now. I will be ordering one of those kits pretty soon.

Thanks alot,
Thomas
