I plan to put rear shockwaves (7000) on my 73 nova. I have checked clearance etc for it. I am now looking at my stock lower mounting plate and wondering if it will be strong enough. I had air shocks previously and it was fine. To put the shockwaves in I would need to drill out mounting holes for the bolt and wouldn' t leave much material on the mounting bracket. I have a multi-leaf setup where the diff sits on top of the leafs and the shock mounting braket is below the leafs. Is there a mounting bracket that would be recommended? Something stronger maybe? Or does anybody know where to get something to work?

I would be concerned as well. But I don' t know of anything to replace it. I would be even more concerned with the upper mount. If you are not putting any more weight on the Shockwaves than you did with the air shocks then you will probably be all right. You might want to hold out for the AirBar. We will be making a kit for this car eventually.

When you say eventually, how long are we talking? 6 months, 1 year, 2 years, longer? I will have the same setup as when I had air shocks, just replacing them, so how would I end up with more weight on the Shockwaves? I done some searching and found some lower universal plates that the shock bolts into the mount rather than having a bolt run through the mount, would this be any better? Or should I just reinforce my existing mounting plates?
