I dont know how to describe this without being to confusing but maybe i can try.I have the coolride on the front of my 76 c10 and when i deflate my bags the top of the bag(rubber) rolls over the top of the steel plate on the bag (not the upper bag bracket but the actual bag plate). Well the problem i get is when i air it up it gets a couple inches high and then it pops off the plate which is quite loud and actually jolts the whole front end of my truck. Surely this isnt normal and whats the problem???

I' ve only seen this a couple of times and you' ve explained it perfectly. Try swapping the bags from side to side.

What would this change?

There is extra material on the inside of the bag causing the suction and sometimes switching it from side to side will fix it. Otherwise time and use will wear it away.

But by switching the bags what changes? The npt port will still be on the inside so the bag will still collapse the same. If only one side was doing it i could see how the bag has a suction or deflates differently but both sides doing it im lost??? What if i went with a different brand of bags...just a thought....

Sometimes it lines up a little different on one side.
Are both bags making the noise?

yes, they both do the exact same thing. what if the bottom cup brackets were cut at a slant so th bag was more even when deflated???

Either that or have a bumpstop set so it won' t go down quite so tight.

Also in the kit came some L shaped brackets. Where and how are these brackets supposed to go an function...are they neccessary?.

That is a steering stop. Didn' t you get the instructions? They are to keep the wheels from hitting the inner fender when you turn sharp. You may not need them.

My instructions have 1 pic of the airbag installed but there is no bumpstop or steering stop in the pic. The instructions are pretty vague. it says-
" It is recommended that a new bumpstop and steering stop be installed on the lower control arm after the airspring installation is complete. This will ensure that the vehicle will not go to low or that the caliper will not hit the airspring" Thats all it says about the bumpstop or steering bracket.
