The AirPod is intended to mount horizontally (on a trunk floor, for example), but there is no reason it cannot be mounted vertically. All components are secured to the base, and the cover screws to the base with 4 screws.

Thanks so it would be ok to mount it vertically with the airline fittings facing downwards? Yesterday the website said the airpod would be available Novemer 19, now says December 10? whats up with that? also need to know how long the ridepro e2 cable harness is from display to the ecu

AirPod delay is due to gathering all components required to build the unit. I cannot assemble, what I do not have parts for.
The display cable is 6-feet. We offer display extensions that extend the harness an additional 6-feet (like an extension power cable you can keep adding them, to an extent)

Britt, totally understand about the delay didnt mean to sound like a jerk just very anxious to get it ! I have been reading your correspondence with colecustms about the tank sensor getting wet- will that be a problem if i mount the airpod vertically?

Possibly. You stated you wanted to mount it with the air lines at the bottom. This would place the sensor at the bottom of the tank. The sensors rarely fail due to getting wet or dirty (they are completely sealed) they just get clogged and no longer see air pressure.
A small desiccant dryer could be added to the AirPod to eliminate this possible issue. I do not include a dryer as we have so few issues with moisture it has not been required. I actually track, geographically, all the moisture related problems. In 2007 less than 1% of the compressor kits we sold were reported to have moisture related issues.

I could also mount it with the airlines facing up which would put the tank senor at the top and also put the valves higher then the tank probably alleviating most known issues would you agree the reason for this choice of configuration is because i need the 9 .5 dimension to be my width will this work?

Mounting the AirPod with the air lines coming out the top would be the best option if you have to mount it vertically. It will place the valves higher than the tank, and place the tank sensor at the top of the tank.
In any mounting orientation, the data shows that problems are VERY unlikely to occur. Like I stated earlier, the percentage of units with condensation problems are extremely low.
