I am in the process of building a 1940 Ford pickup. It will have a Posies superslide leaf spring setup in it. I have not mounted a crossmember for shocks yet so now is the time to decide on requirements. I will be pulling a small streetrod trailer at times and would like to be able to maintain my ride height and handling during this. I believe that the SKW7000-COM2 is the package that will do just this for me. Am I going in the right direction ?

If this is the right direction a few more questions.

What is prefered angle of shockwave set at ?

Which side of axle is preferred for mounting ?

Are the original shocks to be used in conjunction with the shockwave ?

Thanks,

Buzz

That kit should work just fine. Make sure that length shock will work for you. They are 11.5" compressed and 16.5 extended. Ride height being around 14.5".

The Shockwaves do not require an additional shock absorber. They have a 16 position adjustable shock inside them.

Shock angle isn't that important. Just try not to lean them over more than 20-25 degrees.

It doesn't matter if you mount them in front or behind the axle, whatever works out better for you.
