I'm going to be running a 4-link with Shockwaves on the rear of my S-10. The Shockwaves will be mounted directly behind the axle, and orientated so that they will be tilted 0-5 degrees at the top. While the truck will predominatly be driven with an empty bed, I would like it to be capable of having a 500lb load in the bed. Which of the Shockwaves would be a better choice, 7000 or 9000?

Ideally I would run them between a 12-20 degree angle in the rear and I would also use the SKW8000's ( replacement for the SKW9000's and same load capacity.)

Do you recommend the wider angle to help "soften" the spring?

Also, do you have any info on the SKW8000's. I've never heard of them.

The new 8000's have virtually the same dims. and load capacity of the 9000's, just a new design. Here is a pic.

You are talking about tilting the top of Shockwaves in toward the center right? This will help the truck handle better and gain travel.

what is the diameter of the 8000 series? I also obviously have the 7000 series for my honda , but why does your description of 7000 series say they are not to be used in ifs or irs when thats what hondas have?

The 8000's are about 5" in diameter. Your car is an exception to the rule. Most independent suspension apply a lot of leverage to the spring, but your car does not.

Yes.

Those 8000's look nice. Looks like I'll order a set of those here shortly. Thanks for the help.
