whats up guys,
i have a new set of S-10 shockwaves and there seemed to be an "oil" inside the bag.i guess my question is,will the shocks leak inside the bag? if so can i get an o-ring kit and refill them? they only have <300 miles on them.

Sounds like it has a bad seal. You will have to send them back to us to get rebuilt. Give us a call and we will get you a tracking #.

Pete, I just replied to your e-mail regarding this issue. I'll reiterate here:
if the shock leaks it's almost always due to the shock topping out and damaging the closure nut. Topping out is caused by running the Shockwave higher than the recommended installed height (normally to clear large tire/wheel packages).
The Shockwaves can be rebuilt, but we have to do that in house.
Every aluminum shock that goes out our door was assembled and fully dyno tested in-house. This ensures every shock that we ship leaves our facility functioning correctly. This also allows us to "match" shocks to each other so you get a pair that function together.

ok,so how do I know when the shockwave is topping out? is there any way to check this? im running an 18in wheel up front with big red valves and 1/2 in line.should i change anything? like run a 3/8 line? im also running stock LCAs,do they effect the shockwave in any way?

You want to drive it just over mid travel. On that front suspension you will normally have around 5" of travel at the wheel. Ride height will be about 3" from fully compressed and 2" from topped out. (It is easiest to measure from the fender to the ground. This will ensure that you do not top out or bottom out the shock when hitting a bump.

First off lets clear up that when the Shockwaves are assembled there is actually some lithium lube that is sprayed inside them for assembly. This is to lube the O-rings and shock body for assembly. I have seen it to where they got a little over zealous on the lube and have seen it weep out... but keep in mind this will be a little bit... If you are getting quite a bit of clear oil... it is definitely shock fluid.

it seems like a darker oil...and when i compress the shock you can hear the air passing through the piston.Britt and I just figured out its the QA1 shocks. And you no longer use these,im hoping you still have a rebuild kit there, but im not sure how long its been since you guys discontinued them.Everything in the truck is ART,and im hoping to get the Shockwaves back in.But we'll see....LOL..i can only think possitave. And like Iv said in other threads on here, your customer service is second to none, you guys and your products are the best.So if they cant be fixed i will be buying a new updated set.i tell all my customers to use ART products like I do.its worth it in the end to do it right the first time.
