Just wondering if you guys can help me. I have a 1983 gmc serria 1500 it is like brand new with 30000 miles on it. I have had it put up for a long time its a
4.1L 250 6 cyclinder. I have been thinking about putting a air ride system on it. Which system would you use or would you just do the 2" spindles and springs and what the best way to do the rear end.
Thanks Gary

How low do you want to go? Do you want to lay frame or just get a nice drop without cutting the bed and fenders?

I'm not to sure about cutting the bed or the frame. What would you recommend..

I would use the AirBar system on the rear. This parallel 4 link system will give you the best ride quality, performance and towing capacity for your truck. Plus it's all bolt on and you will not have to cut the bed floor.
For the front I would use the CoolRide kit w/ upper and lower StrongArms. We normally use drop spindles as well.

Finally! this is the article I have been looking for. Can you tell me what size tire/wheel is on this truck? It looks like Budnik Gasser 18/20's. What size tires are they?

That is correct. Not sure on the width/backspacing. We borrowed those from another truck just to take some pics. So the b/s is probably not even right.

Yeah, I saw at the end of the article they were borrowed. I don't really need B/S details just curious on tire size. I am currently running 245/40/20's in front, and 295/40/20's in back with an AOL system. Tony set me up with the Airbar system to replace the AOL, and Strong Arms, etc up front.
I was just curious if this will allow me to set lower. The truck pictured looks a bit lower in front, but I think it has a shorter tire/wheel.

Typically the arms will allow an extra inch of drop, but I think your inner fender will limit this. We have bumpstop on that truck to ensure the truck still rolls at full deflate.
The back of this truck would go about 2" lower if you put a shorter bumpstop on it, but you would have to cut the bed floor for the pumpkin.

That's exactly how mine is currently set. It has custom built stops to ensure that it will roll when totally aired out. The rear end is about 1" from hitting the bed.
If that truck is done the same, the difference must be in the tire height.
