I'm putting Strong Arms and 13" Disc Brakes from CPP on my 60 Nomad Wagon. I have the Strong Arms installed. Now I'm putting on the brakes. The rotors hit the stock steering arm. Even if I ground it to get it to fit the tie rod ends wouldn't go on the steering arm. I either have to go to 12 inch brakes or 2 inch drop spindle. I was advised by Tony not to run the drop spindle. What would happen if I did or would I just be better of with 12" discs?? Thanks for the help:)

Is the CPP brake kit not designed to work with a stock spindle?

Yes but it didn't fit. I got the 13's and the calipers hit the steering arm and they are so big you could not get the lingage on........I'm on my way to CPP right now........I'm going to call you guys........Cal

Well call off the dogs!......I just got back from CPP. I don't know who was more embarassed me or CPP. I walk in and the engineer says "Oh the Calipers mount on the back of the rotor not the front:eek: Dang! Their instructions weren't specific on that point and I couldn't tell from the picture. I called Sat. but the guy I talked too didn't know. Well any how the trip was worthwhile. I got a lot more info and parts that someone didn't give me with the kit. The new hubs require a thinner castle nut so you can get the washer and carter key in the existing hole in the spindle. The only reason I "Narced"on myself so someone else might benefit from my blundering:D..............Sorry to be a PITA;)

a guy...admitting he was wrong??? Has Hell frozen over??? :)
Just kidding. Awesome of you to 'fess up, indeed may help others who run into the same problems; and don't feel too bad, that's not the dumbest thing I've ever heard. I worked in an auto parts store for several years and I've heard some doozies.
