View Full Version : 59-64 Impala front strong arm question ???
Are your upper and lower strong arms jigged off factory templates OR are they modified for caster, camber and tread width concerns. I have read a ton of stories about not being able to properly set camber and only being able to get minimal caster as it affects the camber also? Are the arms designed to duplicate stock tread width? Thanks, Kevin.

They are stock tread width. On most arms we correct ball joint angle, but the angles looked good on this car, so we didn't change them. On most arms we do add a couple degrees of caster as well, but I'm not sure on this one specifically. I'll have to check with Rodney on Monday.
Thanks, I am quite interested in the Caster.

When we initailly designed those arms several years ago we did not add any additional caster to the arms. However, we did redesign them mid last year and added 3 degrees to them. So you should be able to run at least 3-4 degrees of positive caster.
So, if you shipped mine out Feb. 1st this year, good chance I have the ones with more caster? Thanks again, Kevin.

Yes. I actually looked back into the production dates on that. We manufacturered another run in Sept. and November, so you should for sure have the new ones.
This is the thread I had referenced regarding my arms having built in caster or not. Thanks.
