Hey all,

So here I am getting the rear end sorted in my 55 when I suddenly came to realise that I might have the wrong upper chassis bracket.

According to the assembly sheets, I have the underframe bracket, when looking at the car, I actually need a sideframe one (see pics).

Daz? Someone? I'm 99% sure I have the wrong bracket.

I can make it fit, but the bag is going to be working on an angle, which is obviously a no-no.

Thanks again,

Rus.

These cars are a bit tough to do the air over leaf on. The side frame bracket is designed for pickups where the leaf is several inches outside the frame rail, so it's too wide and won't fit. So we must use the bracket that you have. But it doens't fit that great either since the leaf springs are not parallel to the frame rail. You will have to build a spacer to go between the bracket and the frame.

That's what I was thinking. Much like the front shock bracket, I'm sure I'll come up with something. ;)

Thanks Darren.

Sorry, there are just too many configurations of rear suspension on that car. Some have a one piece frame design, some have a two piece; some mount the air spring in front of axle, some behind the axle; stock leaf spring location or narrowed leaf spring location.
