View Full Version : ABAR11013 template locator

I am ready to mark and cut for my ABAR11013 notches. The instructions say to use a factory hole in the frame to locate the template. The hole I have seems to locate the template about 1.5 inches too far back and .25 inch too high. Is it possible that i do not have the proper frame hole? If i centre the bump stop on the axle as it is raised to the frame and use that as my positioning, will i be ok?

That's odd. First time that we have ran into this.
Yes, if you center the notch with the axle at full compression you should be OK. Keep in mind that the arc of the bars may pull the axle forward a tad.

What year and model truck is this?

the truck chassis is a '78 chev short box. the body is a '51 gmc

You do have the correct length bars correct? They should be 26.5" from C-C.

you can see in the first pic i posted, the "locating" hole that i put a bolt in. it is definitely not a 7/16 hole ans is the only one on the frame in that area

And I don't think that the bar frame mount can be in the wrong location, it bolts in place of the factory leaf spring hanger.
