I have Firestone 9001 tapered sleeve bags on the back of my Olds. I happen to have it up right now with no air in the bags (the rear is suspended, not hanging on the bags) and noticed that the lower support for the bag is about 4 inches high. Could that be cut down by an inch without hurting anything. My tires ended up being taller than I originally planned for and the extra inch would help me have more room for bump stops before I botton out the bags.

Thanks
Doug

You be cutting the threads off, you would have no way of attaching the air spring on the bottom.

Thaks Darren, If I had taken it apart again, I would probaby have seen that. Just kind of grasping at straws. I will just live with what I have. To change it now would require the spring pockets to be raised and the trunk redone again. Not worth it, for an inch.

Just make sure that the bump stop hits before the air spring bottoms out. Allowing the air supspension to bottom out on the air spring will damage it.
