Hello, I have a problem that i cant figure out. First off i have air ride on my Pontiac. I have (2) 5 gallon tanks and (2) 450cc Viair Compressors. It takes 6:45 to fill 0-80 PSI. And 0-95 PSI with No Air filter in 6:45 (Only did it 1 time) Your website says it should take (1) 450cc Compressor to fill (1) 5 gallon air tank in 6:45. Is there something wrong with my setup? I wired the compressors together and ran it straight off the battery. My leader hose's are not leaking. What could be wrong if nothing?

Well, we don't sell the Viair 450 compressor, just the 400. And I don't think that we have any of that info on our site. Did you see that on Viairs site?
Anyway......I have Viair catalog and it states that it should take 6 minutes and 40 seconds for one Viair 450C to fill a 5 gallon tank from 0-145 psi. The the Viair 400 should do it in 4 minutes 50 seconds.
Sounds like you compressors may be a little worn, but not wore out. The specs in their catalog may be a little exaggerated too tho.....

Yes i got all the info from the Viair Website. You state that the Viair 400CC compressor would fill up faster that the 450CC compressor. Are you sure your correct?

Positive. The 450 puts out .94 cfm @ 100psi and the 400 puts out 1.34 cfm @ 100 psi.

A lot of guys run the 450 because it's 100% duty cycle, but the truth is you don't need 100% duty cycle. The 400 is faster and is a sealed compressor, so you don't have to worry about dust, dirt and water getting into it.

To run 2 400's do you just hook them both the the same relay, or use 2 relays and tie them to the same trigger wire? Or do you have a setup that I should just buy? I have the Level Pro. I have the room, so I thougt I may as well put 2 compressors on it. I have about 5 gal. capacity with 3 different tanks.

The relay that you have will hold 40 amps. The Viairs pull about 30. So you will need to purchase an additional relay, part # WIR8500. The ECU has an additional plug (labeled RL2) for the extra relay.
The ecu will actually trigger the 2nd compressor a few seconds after the first to reduce the initial amperage spike seen on compressor start up.

Well i went around the city today and talked to a couple owners of Viair 400CC compressors. All 3 of them told me that i should buy the 400 series and sell the 450's. The 400cc pump faster and are a sealed unit. The only downside is it overheats 2x as fast at the 450cc. Pretty much all what Darren stated :) Its either im going to buy 2 400cc compressors to replace the 450's or im going to eliminate 1 5 gallon tank and hook both of my 450cc compressors to the 1 tank. Tell me what you think?

The 400 is a 33% duty cycle pump. For every 15 minutes running it need 30 minutes of cool down time......according to Viairs catalog.

I think that should be fine for me :)

I keep being told that i have to much air volume. Should i still eliminate a tank?

One tank is enough, but if you play with it the second tank is nice.

Okay thanks for the help Darrin. I just sucked up and bought 2 Viair 400cc's for $295 Shipped. Would there be any demand in my used 450's forsale on this forum?
