Whe I let all the air out of the rear air struts should they look all crinkled up at the top? I thought they would of rolled over the lower part of the strut. Will this shorten there life?

thanks

If you remove all the air from the air spring is there anything pushing the bag out? The simple answer is no, there is nothing pushing out on the bag so it will wrinkle at the top. The bottom will have slid over itself while the air was released.

The only time there is no air in the air spring is when the vehicle is fully deflated. When the vehicle is fully deflated it should not be moved (driven or hauled). With no air pressure the air spring will rub on itself and eventually create a leak.

When you drive the vehicle you will have to add some air to the air spring. If you don't there is no spring holding the vehicle up and the ride will be horrible. Since you have to have air in the spring the air spring will not rub on itself and will outlive the vehicle.

When you haul the vehicle you should leave it at ride height (just like a normal vehicle).

No Im not driving it that would be when the vehicle is parked at show height. I was testing my system and I seen that and that is why I asked the question. My ride height is almost at center position.

Thanks Britt

You will notice that as time goes, the airpsrings will also gain a memory of rolling over themselves and looking much smoother. As far as them getting a "crinkle" in them completely deflated and new.... dont be concerned.:D
