I represent two communities, www.2gStratus.org (for the second generation Dodge Stratus Coupe) and www.NewEclipse.org (for the third generation Mitsubishi Eclipse), both cars are the same as they are both made by Mitsubishi at the Normal, IL plant. Between the two communities we have over 6000 members nationwide as well as overseas.

We want Air Ride to design and manufacture the Air Strut for this platform and I need to know from the source what it would take to make this happen.

You may contact me directly via email: nico@versitileproductions.com or reply to this post with the necessary information to start the wheels in motion.

Thanks for the space,

Nico

Actually we just developed a kit for the 2000 and up Eclipse.
How many do you want?
As far as the Stratus, you would have to talk to a custom shop.

Darren, thanks for your reply.

First just so you understand our cars, the Stratus and the Eclipse share the same platform, so what works for the 2000-2003 Eclipse will work for the Stratus, including the suspension (with very few exceptions). This is true only for the Stratus coupe years 2001-03.

With that said, generally how we work with companies such as yourself who introduce new products to the market, once you' ve established a dealer' s sale price we then deduct from that price as a discount to our members based on the number of orders placed. Most commonly we work in increments of 5-10, for example: if we have 20 orders the discount is $300, 30 orders and the discount is $400, etc. Obviously these are just hypothetical numbers but you get the idea. I would initially start with a low number like 10 and offer a reasonable discount from the retail price for these 10 orders. If the response and demands exceed this initial order number than we can adjust as necessary from there. Let me know if this is something that your company may be interested in, and we' ll get started.

Also, I' d need to know what other items are required in order for the complete front and back kit to be fully functional (compressor, fittings, hoses, etc) and prices. If possible and to make things easier, these items should be included in the buy-in so the total amount of the group buy price should reflect that of a complete ready-to-instal Air Strut kit.

Is this an install that can be done by an individual and if so what is the approx. install time, or would a shop need to do the work? And many of our members are into street racing and drag, are the Air Strut suitable for these and similar activities?

The install is very easy, completely bolt-on. I would estimate 10-15 hrs on the install mainly due to compressor system. Whenever a complete kit is purchased there will be three different part #' s: Compressor kit, front, and rear. Considering there is only one front and rear kit for the 3g' s the only options are on the compressor kit. For the guys that want it to raise really fast (say 1 sec.) they would use the Big Red valves. If not they would opt for the RidePro' s to save money. They give about a 5-6 sec. rise time. So we could essentially offer 2 kits a fast kit and a standard kit.
If you would give me a call and we can go over some other things, or give me your # and I will call you.
Thanks Darren
