When you raise up the vehicle (to do an oil change for example) by the frame by either using a hoist or a jack, should you dump all the air from the air struts?

Why not just do what I do - inflate all four airbags and slide under there...

Well I could do that but I usually take the car do the dealer to get it serviced and I need to know what to tell them.

Well then the answer is no. Think of your air struts like a conventional shock/spring set-up. You don' t have to remove the coil spring when you go to the dealer to have your car serviced do you? There shouldn' t be any problems whatsoever with your airbags being inflated. They' ll probabably use a drive on lift anyways, which makes having bags very nice. Wit ha static drop, most likey, you wouldn' t be able to drive on to the lift.

I' m sorry but if you do what he just told you, you will be in a world of hurt. You must defalte if supprting the vehicle by the frame. If not you could easily tear your bags. He should have known that if he had ever ordered anything from here. That is the first thing they tell you.

hey Kale how you doing? :)
Actually AIRMAN9901 i see what your saying on an air set-up that uses an out board shock where maybe the shock isn' t limiting the suspensions downward travel. But on the shockwaves i believe you are suppose to let them down to no more than 20 PSI unrestrained due to damage the shock from being pulled without the wieght of the car on it. i think the directions say it could pull the shaft out of the top of the shock. I think all the bags will extend more than the Hal shock, any model, will allow them to. My SKW1000 has 3.5" of travel at the shock, raiseing the car off the wheels with 100 PSI in them, and the bag isn' t even close to its max extension, but i bet the shock is screaming [:o]

If the shocks are limiting the bag to its max height I will not hurt it. We say to deflated to be on the safe side. You shouldn' t have to worry about pulling the shock apart, but there in no reason to put the extra strain on it.
