Took my Camaro for a ride before the thunderstorms was schedule for this afternoon. While on my way home I heard a severe air leak which turned out to be my front right (passenger) airline. They are about an inch away from the headers but it still burst. After waiting in the rain for 2 1/2hr for a tow truck and getting the car home I need to repair this line. The car is only a weekend/show car. I will like to use DOT Quick Connect Air Brake Fitting for SAE J844 union.

As long as the fitting is DOT approved you should be fine. Even tho the airline is not physically touching the header that is still a lot of heat being that close. Exhaust gas temperatures are typically over 1200 degrees. I typically try to run the airline inside the frame rail.
