I have a airpod unit and the display was working fine but now it only lights up but no digial reading. The unit works find; it airs up and down but just can't see any numbers. Also it appears that the compressors aren't cutting off, they just run and run.
I tried checking my cables to the ecu, I checked the cable to the display and all the wires seem to be fine, nothing pushed in.
Is there anything else I can check.

Sorry I searched and could only find a few cases of this and no real answer for mine issue.
Thanks

Display not showing numbers:
Normally this is a failure in the harness between the display and the ECU. There are 8 wires in this harness. If you can inflate/deflate, and the button backlights work that tells me the 5VDC and transmit/receive wires are working. If the display does not work it tells me the 28VAC wire (which is the power for the VFD display) is not connected somewhere in the harness. The AirPod has two harnesses going to the display: 1-a short 18-inch harness inside the AirPod and 2-a 12-foot harness going from the AirPod to the display.
You can easily check this by plugging the 12-foot cable directly into the ECU, thereby eliminating the shorter harness. If the display then works the short harness has a terminal pushed out of it (most likely at the stainless steel header panel).

Compressors not turning off:
If the display were working you would be able to see the tank pressure. The compressors will not turn off until the system has reached 150psi. The display not working has nothing to do with this, it is handled by the ECU in the AirPod. For testing purposes you can unplug the compressor relays at the ECU (there are two 2-pin, white connectors that can be unplugged.) This will turn off the compressors while you work on the display. If the compressors continue to run you have a poor ground and the compressor relays have welded themselves together and will need to be replaced.

The only other thing that may have happened is if the ECU failed it could cause both issues. However, we need to attempt to resolve the issues individually before I can say if it's an ECU problem or not.

I tried plugging the 12' cable directly into the ecu but it is still doing the same thing? Any other idea's? Could it be the 12' cable if so how could I test this?

If you have a digital volt meter you can continuity check the 12' harness. Put the DVM on the setting that beeps when you touch the two leads together, then check every wire in the harness. Each wire should beep. If one doesn't then your harness is bad.

Is this an initial install or was the system working previously?

I checked each wire in the harness by using the volt meter putting one lead to one side of the harness and the other lead to the other end and I got beeps on every wire I in the harness.
The display was working. I purchased it a few months ago and setup everything and it worked. Then I had to travel and when I returned the display just wasn't showing numbers. Car was in the garage and nobody had access to it, so i'm not sure what happened.
It's a 2 compressor big red airpod. What should I do next?
Thanks,
Joel

Monday morning call the sales/tech line at 812-481-4787 and request an RMA (return number) We'll need to replace the ECU and the display.
