View Full Version : Lincoln Mark VIII LSC
I was just wondering why when you search for criteria on customer/member cars that their is no listing for Lincoln. [:' (] Right now i' ve added front air struts and rear air bags, 1/2 Inch lines and 100% compressor, but i have no one to confide in on asking about original air bag settings. I' ve completely gutted out the factory air bags :) and now my Lincoln raises from about 1" off the ground to about 12" above ground i beleive. I have sesors reading my original air bag suspension and was wondering what i could do to completely bypass the original setting, because i have light indicators inside the vehicle blinking about my air bags. I honestly was just wondering if anyone out there has put air ride on a lincoln and could direct me to where i could read about trouble shotting the original setting. I have only heard of one other Mark VIII LSC done here in Texas so i' m pretty excited about that. :D Hopefully soon i will be able to upload some pictures because it is a very original job and was all fabricated because of the rear suspension setup and thanks for this Air Ride homepage because i' ve learned alot about it. If you have any information on Lincolns that have been gutted of factory air bags and replaced with air ride please reply.

You came to the right place, I can tell you anything you want to know about the factory air ride system on your Mark VIII. I have a fast bag set-up on my Mark as well. It has been through many versions both with and without computer support. Those pesky messages are easy to fix. Go here for starters and email me if you have any questions.

I can' t believe you haven' t found the Lincolns Of Distinction. We' re an online car club of mostly all Mark VIIIs. http://www.lodcc.org We have lots of people who can help, but there' s only a couple that have gone fast bag. Lots of Tbird owners are opting to go with the Lincolns set-up too. Here' s a link to some of the stuff they are doing, http://www.baggedbirds.com. They have an air suspension forum there as well.

Electrical tape will take care of the indicator light.

Go to www.markVIII.org They have a suspension forum there. It is all Mark VIII' s. Others have done conversions like you have and can tell you how to deal with the factory system.

You know what, if you go to markviii.org and search the suspension forum you' ll find my name all over it. As a matter of fact, I did the graphics for the forum and was very influencial in making that site what it is today. The " Kale mod" as it is commonly reffered to is something I designed to control the factory suspension. Almost all of the links that have anything to do with suspension on that site were made by me.
So on to my point.
The guy who runs the site is illegally using everything that myself and the rest of the LOD members have contributed to the site. Of course it is a long story, but it is very simple to see that I wrote many of the suspension pages, have asked him to stop using them, and yet he ignores my requests. The scripts that run the forum software were tweaked by me and all the forum templates were done by me. We, the Lincolns Of Distinction, are currently in litigation with him to get our site back.
Everything on his site is mirrored at mark8.org, except the forum which is different.

No problem, it' s still a really sticky subject with me. I mean, I' m kinda between a rock and a hard place because I put up the information for anyone who wants it to learn, but the fact that this asshole is using it illegally hits a nerve. We' re way off topic so I' ll quit now...
