Need some help with my rear suspension set-up. I am trying to decide between two options. Any recommendations will be appreciated. Please keep in mind, I am trying to keep the rear seat area and trunk pan as similiar to stock as possible.

1.) Air4Link (Parallel) with Shockwaves: I have already emailed your tech support asking about this system, and was told with the proper boxing of the frame rails, it would work. But, since then I have been advised by a couple local rod shops that it may not without major modifications to the rear subframe. Any advise?? If it will work, will the 10.50" model be the best since it is a fairly light car?? Would this model get me the lowest ride height possible??

2.) A company named Martz Chassis offers a weld-in 4 bar suspension specifically for my car. It is designed to be used with coilovers, but I would switch those out for Shockwaves. If I need to use this system, my question is which Shockwave would you recommend that I use?? 9000 series or your new 7000 series?? Which length (10.50" )?? Here is a picture so you can view it if needed: http://www.martzchassis.net/novarearinstall

Also, I will be putting a TCI front clip on (Mustang II suspension similiar to Heidt' s). I want to use Shockwaves on the front of that also. It comes with a tubular lower control arm. Which model Shockwave will I need?? 1000 or 1001??

Sorry for all the questions, but this is going to be a fairly radical car, and I want to make sure I get it right the first time. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

For the TCI Mustang II Font end we use the SKW1000. It is installed up side down and I believe that TCI makes a special sway bar that helps clear the bag.
I would definitely suggest a back half for installing a 4 link on that car. I am not famaliar with that rear setup but it looks pretty straight forward. I would use the 9000 series on that vehicle. It looks like you will have to watch the axle and upper crossmember clearance for the Shockwave.
Chassis Works also make a kit for those cars as well. Might want to check him out.

Darren,

Thanks for the help. Martz Chassis says that the 9000 will work, but they want me to send it to them so they can make any needed alterations. So that looks like the way I' ll go. If I remember correctly, the Chassisworks system requires a back-half like you recommend, but I would prefer to keep the trunk area as stock as possible.

Any guess how many inches of drop in ride height I' ll get up front with 2" dropped spindles with the Shockwaves and also with this system in the rear??

Do you recommend the 4-way compressor system or can I get away with a 2-way?

Thanks again for the help,

Ryan

Usually with the Shockwaves at ride height the lower control arm will be parallel with the ground. I' m not sure on the exact drop with the TCI front clip, but that should help.
Up front you will get about 5" of travel and about 6" in the rear.
On that car I would use a 4 way so you don' t get any air transfer.

That' s really cool of them to take the Shockwaves and fit them up for you.

Thanks for the help Darren, I really appreciate the insight. Martz has been very accomodating in respect to modifying their design to fit my needs. If I had to guess, they are probably going to use my car as the guinnea pig for a future option. I' ll send some pics when the car' s complete.

Thanks again for everything,

Ryan
