I searched this whole forum, reading about positive experiences and negatives mostly about installs or failures. But nothing at all about how the cars ride.. I plan on going With double adjustable coolride in the rear and shockwaves in front with all components(front and rear control arms and sway bars) what kind of ride can I expect. Will it ride like a new vette or like a luxury cadilliac? How performance oriented is this suspension (level 3) vs. A Good coil over setup for autox and track days? This is going on a 1987 G-Body

The question is "how do you want it to feel"?

An air spring has a very progressive rate, which means we can set it at ride height with the correct spring rate to hold the car up and turn the shocks fairly soft to get that "Cadillac" ride. Or you can add a little more pressure to increase the spring rate without dramatically changing the ride height, stiffen up the shocks and make it feel like a new vette (well, the new vettes are VERY good, but we can get close!)

Either way, when the suspension compresses (like when you go through a corner) the spring rate increases and "catches" the car, thereby decreasing body roll.

We offer (and run) coil overs as well. The problem I have with coil overs is that you put in a spring for what you want to do (auto-cross, daily driver, etc.) This spring is great for one thing, but suffers in other areas.

No one else has an opinion?

Trans damm now thats a good question!

Been trying to ask people with air bags and they really dont give an answer. I have bigger rims and a wide tire pattern, so i feel everything in the road. I just want more of a cushion for a more comfortable ride and not having to worry about everything in the road.

Looking to get a double adjustable also, its almost time! Just need money for an air system :(

I'll take a stab at this.

It rides fantastic, it handles fantastic, it is absolutely an improvement over a stock suspension.

I have shockwave titaniums on all 4 corners (double adjustable with external resevoirs) I made a custom 3 link rear with solid nylon bushings and a watts link and a tubular front a-arm setup with solid bushings as well, all 4 shockwaves have NO urethane they are 100% spherical bearing ends. I run 20x9.5 FR and 20x11RR wheels with 275/40-20 and 315/35-20 michelins at 35 psi. I also run a Kenny Brown chassis stiffener. Giant hellwig anti-roll bars front and rear as well.

Oh BTW this is on a 4700 pound 2002 SVT Ligtning pickup.

The uneducated or inexperienced would immediately arm chair engineer and say the ride must be super rough.......BS, it rides really nice, all of the suspension was designed with near zero bind, so the shock valving and airsprings do all the damping.

I have great road feedback, but it is not harsh unless you hit something seriously rough, also when the shocks are set to "KILL" for the road course, then of course the ride becomes rough, but once turned back down you can set it from "bobbing like an 80's cadilac" to "rattling out fillings like an 80's ferrari" I drive on the street about in the middle.

Feedback from HPDE instructors is always said with a dose of surprise, the best quote would be "rides like a damn caddy sts with 4 inch thick antiroll bars.

If you go with the nice double or triple adjustable shockwaves and feel the ride is rough, then either you need to adjust the shocks or there is something else wrong with other suspension components.

Hope my feedback is helpful.
