Hey all,
I am totally new to this site and i was hoping to learn a few things. I have an 86 gmc sierra ( High Sierra, to be exact). I want to bag it, but wanna have it lay frame. I havent really seen any kits that would match this truck. How do i install a bag system on this truck to make it lay frame. Do I need to lower the truck with dropspindles and springs first, then install the bags, or what. Any help would be great.

Thanks

Matt and Clynt should be all over this one. You will need to make a step notch in the back and use our universal weld on 4 link. Up front use our CoolRide kit with drop spindles. Matt has pictures of all this on the customer car section.

I just looked at Matt' s truck. That' s one hott truck, and exactly like I want mine to look like when I' m finished. What size drop spindles should I use. I think he used like 2.5" , what happens if I get bigger drop spindles? Also did you hand fabricate that C-notch, and if so how did you know how to measure it up. Thanks for all your help.

86Sierra,

Thanks for the compliments guys! I think 3' ' dropped spindles would be too much of a drop for the front end. The 2.5' ' spindles already makes the front lay out hard. It wouldnt go any lower with 3' ' spindles. I used a 9' ' Super step notch that I purchased. I did parallel 4-link out back, and up front the coolride kit. It' s 1 inch away from laying frame, which is good enough for me! Let me know if you have any more questions.

Cool. What keeps it from layin frame? Is it possible to do that with your setup

yeah it' s totally possible with my setup. I must have made a little mistake with mounting the bags, because my 4-link is exactly parallel, so I must have gone wrong with the bag mounting (also, my shocks don' t have much of a collapse, so it' s kinda holding it up too). Works perfectly fine, just 1 inch from laying out. I would definetly get a parallel 4-link, and coolride kit with 2.5' ' dropped spindles. Should work great for you! Good luck, glad to help
