I' ve been interested in installing an air ride system into my 99' Cougar for a few months now and have been researching a bit here and there. There are already a few people whom have been successful at doing so, and they have been very helpful so far. But i' m also interested in learning more from others as well.

Now, with that said, i was having a conversation with one of those people and basically i asked if it was faster to have a valve pull the air out of a bag to lower the ride height as opposed to just letting the weight of the vehicle push the air out. But after some thinking about it some isn' t it really a combonation of both?

And after thinking about it more i' m not sure how i got the idea a valve can pump air out of a bag.

a valve releases the air out of the bag. it doesn' t push it out. Compressed air will release if it' s not air sealed. So the valve serves as a " door" for the air to escape from.

kinda hard to explain, but hopefully it helped u out

Yeah, thanks. I have no idea how we got the idea that a valve will " push" or " pull" the air out of the bags. I' m a bit embarrased after re-reading what i wrote...oh well. It' s all a part of the process of learning.
