have no idea where my other posts went but i need some solid info on having air ride built for my thirdgen. here is a good idea of what she looks like.

i was told 6500 since airride has to fabricate the front struts on my car. that is not realistic for me considering that included the slower setup and installation it' s a bit overpriced so i would like to know either when the front air struts are going to be built or if i can just send you a donor car to do mock ups for the front strut bags so i can have them installed.

i' m extremely serious and ready to go. i had wanted to have air ride installed for world of wheels here at the end of february but unfortunately the price i was quoted was steep and the time frame wasn' t practicle. i called back in september to set something up for my chevy high performance writeup but they didn' t have the strut bags designed then either.
i' m more then willing to do the install on everything here at my shop but not having the front struts designed yet causes a problem. i figured it would be worth the extra amount to have you guys do it up for me so that i would know it' s right for one and since i have to trailer the car all the way down there anyhow for the build why not?
seeing as how i have the show coming up in 3 weeks it isn' t possible to get the car down there to do anything. however i' m ready and willing right after february so if something can be worked out let me know and i' ll call you. the last person i called had to call me back 3 different times and the price jumped up 1200 each time. i wasn' t too happy about that. i have a photo shoot scheduled with a primedia magazine the last weekend in march so it would be nice to have it in before then if something can be worked out.

I remember now. That was me you talked to. You are in Michigan right. I do remember the price jumping once because you have coil overs up front and wanted AirStruts whereas I figured we would use a cool ride kit which is much cheaper and easier to fab. up. Plus that also depended on weather or not we were to do just the suspension or the whole install compressor and all. There may have been a little confusion. Give me a call and we can try and sort this out.

when is a good time...i' m typically at work like now until later but let me know and i' ll call you.
yeah i remember talking to you and how most shops around here wanted 35-4500 for install and at first you said that was high until the last time we talked and you said 6500 i was a bit in shock.
anyhow i' ll give you a call, thanks!

all of this brings up another interesting question....
currently my car has a coilover conversion which means it would be very easy to install strutbags and call it a day. however the stock suspension is a completely different k member and a arm setup that allows for a separate spring and strut combo rather then a coilover.
which would be better as far as ride? in parts it would be much cheaper to convert back to my stock style suspension in order to run bags in place of springs but would i have a better ride if i just replaced my coilovers with strut bags??
considering its a 1,000+ difference that' s a huge price concern. if one ride is better then the other it may be worth it though. any suggestions?

A cool ride setup is definitely the most cost effective for development and parts. But you will need the OEM lower arms for that. This suspension is very similar to the Mustang. The cool ride kit is 349 and the AirStruts are 995. But the AirStruts are better for performance due to the adjustable struts. They are also a lot better looking, billet aluminum. You must also consider that with the Cool Ride kit you will need to buy struts if not using stockers. A good set of struts will run $400.
