A Rainy start to the 4th Great American Nationals here at Pocono Raceway. Friday was pretty much a wash, light steady rain along with 20 mph winds made for a cold day. The Street Challenge autocross was canceled and now it’s not looking good for Saturdays autocross, as a light mist accompanied by fog that covers the area. Yesterday we have made refuge inside the trailer to hide from the wind. at-least the wind is gone. We pass the time by cooking lunch in the trailer, yesterday chili, today meatball sandwiches. We hope Mother nature decides to let us have a good show today.
Well, what do you know the rain held out so we could get some laps in. Many people stayed till the end and it payed off. We had a few hundred people watching us thrash the Super Nova around the autocross, boy was it fun.
The sky’s opened up Sunday and made sure everything got wet. We were hoping to get a few more runs in on the Street Challenge Autocross, but we had a better chance racing boats! The track was beginning to fill up like a soup bowl. Glad we were able to make it out …. Hopefully next years event will give us a chance to see it’s potential . Pocono is a cool place and the area has some beautiful scenery, “I’m told,” Since it was all covered in clouds!
