This past Saturday we were honored to have some good friends of ours over for the day, the 20th Century Chevy car club from Washington Indiana.
You hear it all the time, but I promise you it’s true, these are some of the classiest coolest people you’ll ever meet. For 30 plus years now they’ve been putting on a car show up in Washington and for a lot of car folk here in the tri-state it’s their favorite.
TCC (Twentieth Century Chevy) has continually put back into the community such as enormous improvements to the park they use for the car show; they also use the lion’s share of the gate money to give Thanksgiving and Christmas to under privileged children in the surrounding area, in fact they probably do as much or more for the city of Washington and the surrounding area as any other civic organization up there.
Saturday was a “get out of the house cuz its still winter and I’m getting kind of restless” shop tour day. TCC invited some friends of theirs to come along and we had people from Indianapolis, Bowling Green and a bunch of other places, which was really really cool.
I should have counted, but I’m positive we had at least 60-70 people here and best I can tell everyone had a good time. There were tours of all the buildings, a friend of ours came in and fried a bunch of dead chickens, made tator wedges, beans and of course there was an ample supply of cold beverages.
It was truly a treat to have em’ come and see us and I sincerely hope they will make us a regular stop on their winter shop tours.
