Suspension Challenge Winner Chosen

We received many great entries this year for the Suspension Challenge and it was hard to narrow down to a single winner, but in the end we choose Dustin Bernacki with his 1968 Chevy Chevelle. (More information about the Suspension Challenge) For Dustin this is only the beginning of the Suspension Challenge, now he and his team of friends must install a complete ridetech suspension system at the Holley LS Fest event September 9th-11th. Autocross times of the Chevelle will be documented both before and after the suspension swap so that the effectiveness of a new ridetech suspension system will be measurable. We plan on videotaping the whole event, so tune into ridetechtv.com after the event for further details.

Information Dustin sent in about the Chevelle:
“I have had this car for 14 years; I purchased it when I was 15. I have done everything to the car myself except the paint, I’ve built my own motors including the latest engine which is a 2007 6.0L LS engine with a big cam and I am running the HOLLEY DOMINATOR EFI computer and harness.

The weak point of the car is the suspension for sure. About 10 years ago I replaced the front bushings with new ones and put in a set of lowering springs, the thing still handles like a sloppy boat because I have not done anything to the rear yet other than springs and shocks. I’m running the 6.0 LS engine, it has the rectangle port heads and a comp cams camshaft and a 2010 Camaro intake. Behind it is a built 4l60 transmission and a 3.73 posi rear. “
