They say “There is a first time for everything.” We can’t agree more. Although RideTech has attended thousand of automotive events over the years, we somehow have never made it to Goodguys Colorado. Now celebrating its 20th year, we are told that this is one of the best shows on the calendar. RideTech will be there and we think you should attend, as well.
Loveland, Colorado is located in the northern part of the state and west of Rocky Mountain State Park. If you are coming from points west, be sure to navigate to Trail Ridge Road on your way into town. This 50 mile winding road has beautiful curves and extraordinary views. There are plenty of scenic overlooks as well as ancient rock formations that greet you at the edge of the pavement. RideTech Nation enthusiasts dream about roads like this.
Goodguys always puts on great shows and their Loveland, Colo. event is no exception. Held at a Northern Colorado fairgrounds complex called “The Ranch,” there is plenty of room for car show parking and vendors. There are some interesting happenings on the three-day schedule including a small collector car auction. We’ll be watching a few cars on the docket including No Reserve offerings. It’s always fun to try and “steal” a car with a low winning bid. If you prefer to negotiate the old fashioned way, there is also a “Cars 4 Sale Corral” and swap meet at the venue.
One of the nation’s best known hot rod shops is a stone’s throw away from The Ranch venue. Ridler-winning Pinkee’s Rod Shop is hosting an open house 6 p.m. Friday. We hear there are some killer builds in process. Pinkees has the resources to build cars from scratch, so expect to see a variety of rods and customs. We’re hoping that Pinkee’s has food at their party. We will, no doubt, be starving after a long day of running the RideTech display and racing in the autocross. The address for Pinkee’s is: 4395 Highland Meadows Pkwy, Windsor, Colo. 80550.
Speaking of racing, stop by the autocross pits and say hi to Jason Brady. He will be running his stepdad Trent’s one-of-a-kind Blazer. Built from scratch, the Blazer looks like a street-legal race car hiding in SUV bodywork. It’s a mean machine. Jason has already won the Truck class earlier this year in North Carolina, so the truck should be competitive in Colorado, as well.
While you are walking around The Ranch be sure to visit Trent and Darlene in the RideTech display. This is your chance to check out our wide range of suspension designs. We will have our new StreetGRIP kits on display as well as coilovers and air suspension. If you bring your car by, we will weigh it and, if necessary, take some basic measurements for free. It’s important to know your hot rod’s weight and weight balance.
Don’t miss the Awards ceremony on Sunday. You’ll see all of the weekend’s top cars in one spot. Some of the country’s best cars are build in this part of the country.
Wth spectacular Rocky Mountain scenery, an rod shop open house and high-energy racing action, we are thrilled to be attending the Goodguys Colorado Nationals for the first time. Now in its 20th year, we can’t believe it took us so long to make the trip. We hope to see you there. Enjoy this gallery from last year’s event.
