New Select Series Shocks

October 28th, 2009 | No Comments | Posted in General News, New Products

RideTech is pleased to bring the latest in OEM shock technology to the hotrod market
with the new RideTech SELECT series of shock dampers. The RideTech Select series is
a steel body monotube damper with TWO sets of independent internal valving so you
can choose between a soft compliant ride or a firmer “sport mode” for handling
performance…all at the touch of a switch!

The RideTech Select series will be available in a coilover, a ShockWave [airspring],
or a stand alone configuration with no surrounding spring. RideTech [formerly known
as Air Ride Technologies] has long been known for the ShockWave, a combination
airspring and shock absorber. With the new Select Series damper, RideTech is now
the ONLY manufacturer able to bring this new electronically selectable valve
technology to the coilover customer as well. The Select Series is also available
with no coil or airpsring.

The heart of the RideTech Select is two independent sets of electronically controlled
valving inside the monotube damper. In default mode [no power applied], the lower
valving stack is engaged and provides a very compliant ride to optimize a plush ride
quality. When power is applied through a dash mounted control panel, the upper
valve stack is engaged to firm up the ride quality and provide extra cornering and
handling performance, or to optimize ride quality when towing or carrying a heavy
load such as passengers, luggage or a trailer.

This selectable valve technology has been refined and proven on many OEM
vehicles over the past 9 years. RideTech now offers the ultimate solution
to the ride quality and handling issues of the hotrod and trailering market…

Nation of Go

We were treated to a visit with some pretty cool “internet geeks” last week (and we mean geek in the best possible way). These guys are some hard core website developers that also happen to be gearheads. They have developed some very cool technology and are on the road spreading the word.

A little rain didn’t stop us from putting on a show for their cameras. They captured some pretty cool video while they were here.

Disappearing Tire Trick – Burnout times 3 from Nation of GO on Vimeo.

BFGoodrich is behind the project, and what they have started has some huge potential. Imagine a web site where you can share photos of your ride, and your favorite places to drive. OK, we know, there are already web sites out there for that… but now imagine that you can download an app to your phone that automatically tracks your drive and places your photos on an interactive google earth style map… now you might be getting the picture of what these guys are about.

Take some time to check out the NATIONofGO.com

Good Guys Chicago (Joliet)

September 24th, 2009 | No Comments | Posted in Events, General News, In the Media

It’s 106 miles to Chicago, we have a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it’s dark and were wearing sunglasses… HIT IT!

OK so maybe it wasn’t a 106 to Chicago from the Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet Illinois site of the 3rd annual Goodguys Peak Chicagoland Nationals, but it sure was a whole lot of fun! The weather was about as good as it could be, all the folks I talked to were in good spirits and havin’ a ball. There was an autocross available for any registered participant who want to got out and race the clock. There were around 50 who hit the track and with nearly every pass improved upon their own times. Goodguys also had a track cruise on the high banked oval of the Chicagoland Speedway. All in all it was a really great time, on a really great venue, so if you’ve never been be sure to put this show on your list for next year… and who knows, maybe you’ll see Jake and Elwood cruising town.
