 We’re not in Kansas anymore Toto… which is really a shame cuz the Goodguys Mid Western Nationals in Kansas City Kansas was a whole lotta fun.  The infield at Kansas Speedway is a great back drop to the goings on, plus it lends to taking a few laps around the track on Friday and Saturday. 

As always in Kansas there was an autocross that anyone with a registered vehicle could take part in.  Nearly thirty people took advantage of the opportunity to get out on the course and challenge the clock.  I honestly believe that if it wasn’t for the intermittent rain there would have been plenty more.

For anyone who lives in the Midwest, this is truly a fun show.  It’s close to lots of other activities, restaurants and lodging, so bring the family and enjoy a fun filled relaxing  weekend with a bunch a folk passionate about the sport of hot rodding.

Back to the 50’s

The Minnesota Street Rod Association has done it again! The 36th annual “Back to the 50’s” car show was a complete success. With nearly 12,000 registered participants they showed a huge decline of only 1 percent, yup 1 whole percent. As always the Minnesota state fairgrounds provided the ultimate in ambiance with a park like atmosphere. Tree lined streets provided shade for almost everyone and the weather cooperated to the fullest. If you have never been to this show, you really need to add it to your show schedule.
