2009 SEMA & Optima Invitational Coverage

The 2009 SEMA show was a big one for use this year. It was our first year to display as RideTech instead of Air Ride Technologies, and we had a full line of new product being introduced. Our new Select Series Shocks received a new product award, and was a big hit with the people we were able to show it to. The Black Series ShockWaves also made a stir, as did our new RidePROe3 control system. The new TigerCage application for the A-Body Chevelle was featured on the display chassis and it too was a hit.

As usual, there was a great deal of media coverage and we had our share. Take a look at a few of the videos below:

Just when the SEMA show was winding down, we switched gears and fired up the Velocity Camaro, and our 66 Chevelle to participate in the 2nd annual Optima Ultimate Street Car Invitational. For the second year, the best of the best brought their SEMA show cars to the Spring Mountain Raceway to prove they were more than eye candy.

We are grateful for the opportunity sponsor this event along with Optima, K&N, and others. You can get a full list of participants, and sponsors at OptimaInvitational.com It is a difficult thing to capture the coolness of this event… but the video below is our attempt:

There was a bit of drama surrounding one of our own, and the Optima Ultimate Street Car Invitational. You can follow the saga in the videos below:

This story started out simply enough. One man, doesn’t get invited to an exclusive invitation-only event designed to highlight the best-of-the-best street cars in the country.

This one man, turns out to be more than the event organizers have bargained for. Armed with a video camera, and a healthy dose of luck, he sets out to change the corse of history… and his name is Ty:

Cam Douglass from optima batteries announces there was one participant who backed out so he was going to raffle off the invitation at the Pro-Touring.com dinner. Fate interviens and Ty is provided a chance of a lifetime. there is just one catch:

Up to the challenge, Ty seeks a ride for his chance of a lifetime:
