Thursday Report:
Of course the show doesn’t actually start until tomorrow, but the hot rods are already here. I spent some time going through the parking lot at the Crown Plaza Hotel – it is quite a gathering.
Friday Report:
The vendor challenge autocross was held today along with the Street Machine of the Year Autocross (see more info here), and once again the vendor class came down to a battle between Brad Coomer of Air Ride Technologies and Kyle Tucker from Detroit Speed. At the end of the day with time running out, Brad pulled out his fastest runs, but they were just shy of those made by Kyle. It was again an awesome show and a great display of driving ability, car control and chassis set-up. We can’t wait to get out and run it again.
It was also good to see a few more cars on the course in the vender challenge this time around including Hotchkis and Ford Performance. Here are some photos – look for some video soon:
| Kyle | Tucker | Detroit Speed 69 Cam | 15.901 |
| Brad | Coomer | Air Ride Tech 71 Cam | 15.95 |
| Brad | Coomer | Air Ride Tech 69 Must | 16.054 |
| Stacy | Tucker | Detroit Speed 69 Cam | 16.149 |
| John | Hotckis | Hotchkis 72 nova | 16.564 |
| Bret | Voelkel | Air Ride Tech 69 Must | 16.592 |
| goodguys | chevelle | Air Ride Tech 70 Chev | 16.682 |
Tune in tomorrow night for more coverage. Saturday night we’ll have more show photos and the coverage of the SuperNova reveal to the public. The car was placed on the lift today and put under wrap until Saturday. This car will be a good successor for the 70 Chevelle that will be given away on Sunday (we’ll have photos of that too).
The new 2009 SuperNova giveaway car on the lift and under cover:

This is the only part of the car that will be revealed until Saturday:
