High horsepower meets high style at Holley’s LS Fest East, which took over Beech Bend Raceway this weekend. Ever since 2010, this event has brought some of the country’s fastest and meanest LS-powered hot rods to Bowling Green, Kentucky, for three days of gear-jamming, tire-smoking fun.
LS Fest’s premise is a straightforward one: if the car is equipped with a Chevrolet LS powerplant, it’s in. How about that? Walking around the grounds, you’ll find everything from Camaros and Mustangs to monster trucks and even an LS-swapped Nissan Skyline GT-R.
From start to finish, the schedule is packed with opportunities to put these machines to the test. Drag racing. Autocross. Drifting. Dyno pulls. Burnout challenges. You name it, it’s happening at Beech Bend.
Just like in years past, we have the full Ridetech rig set up in the manufacturer’s midway. This time around, we’re excited to have Lucas Oil Products’ 1967 F100 in the booth.
Although it may look like an unassuming shop truck at first glimpse, a closer look reveals that the faded blue pickup has been outfitted with a turbocharged LS engine, Ridetech Crown Victoria coil-overs up front and a whole lot more. If you’re at the show this weekend, make sure to swing on by and say hello.
One of the best parts about LS Fest is that there’s no limit to what you can build. We enjoyed watching a wide variety of Ridetech-equipped machines pushing the envelope in just about every event. Holley’s LS Fest East is one of our favorite events; we’re already looking forward to next year.
