Historic Sports Cars Reign Supreme at Road Atlanta

Over the weekend, we made the trip to Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta for the Historic Sports Car Racing Mitty. Now in its 44th year, the three-day event brings historic machines from across the country to Northern Georgia for an action-packed racing experience.

Out on the track, a wide range of racecars battled for supremacy. Corvettes, Mustangs, Porsches, NASCAR cars, and a diverse mix of others ripped around the 2.54 mile, 12 turn course. Ever since 1970, the track has been a favorite of competitors and fans alike.

We set up our fully stocked Ridetech in the Manufacturers’ Midway, complete with our Shockwave-equipped 2018 Mustang GT, a Pro-Touring Camaro , and a 1969 Porsche. The 911T is fully street legal and outfitted with a 3.6 liter flat-six from a 993. It’s for sale—and you can learn more about it here.

There’s a whole lot to like about the Mitty, but we especially enjoy walking around the paddock. This is a truly interactive event, where you’re encouraged to talk to drivers, crews and fellow vintage racing enthusiasts. Blue skies and temperatures in the high 70s made things even better.

It was a fun and memorable year at the Mitty. Thank you everyone who swung by the booth to say hi. We had a great time catching up with old friends and making new ones, too. We’re already looking forward to next year!
