Beautiful car. I have owned and autocrossed a 69 AMX and and there’s nothing like that short wheelbase with lots of horsepower. I appreciate your efforts to maintain the AMC heritage, but the heart and soul of any car is the engine. I know all the logical advantages to the LS engine series and you’ll probably be able to buy one at Walmart soon, but think how amazing the car would be with Indy Cylinder Heads aluminum AMC block, heads and EFI setup. You can even buy one as a crate engine. It wouldn’t be cheap but the AMC heritage would really been preserved. Apparently it was good enough for Penske Racing back in the day when the Javelins were winning the real Trans-Am races with 305 inches of Rambler power.
Again, beautiful car and I’m glad you’ve got an AMC out there. Just wish people know how competitive the cars where (and still are) with the AMC engine.

Yes I agree,the AMC motors are incredible motors as is,with there steel crank and forged rods in a cast iron block.They are a big bore // short stroke motor,that is no bigger than a LS3, easily making 500 reliable horsepower.If need be, a aluminum Indy block and heads will give you all the power you need,using many available manifolds,carbs, throttle bodies and port injection.
