1 review for StreetGRIP Suspension System for 1970-1981 Camaro & Firebird

  1. Adrian (verified owner)

Two years ago I installed the StreetGRIP package and Steering Kit on my (back then) stock 71 Camaro SS. I was already impressed by the completeness of the kits and quality of the parts but ultimately it was the last two years driving the car that made me write this review. The handling and the way that 50 year old car sits on the road makes it incredibly fun to drive. I live in Switzerland, a country with beautiful curvy mountain roads but very little patience for visibly modified cars or engines. So the big block with the blower sticking through the hood is unfortunately out of the question which made me go for the suspension upgrade at first. By now I would say the StreetGRIP package is in terms of fun per dollar one of the most effective upgrades I could have done to the car! Ideally paired with an improved steering box, because the slack in the old steering becomes much more noticeable with the improved suspension.
The only downside was, that the rear sway bar assembly was not included in the kit. But these kits are readily available at summit and others so that was an easy fix.

Over all a great package with good quality components for a fair price which made my car a lot more fun to drive!
