Billed as one of hot rodding’s premier summertime shows, the GoodGuys 18th PPG Nationals did not disappoint.  With over 6,200 show cars and over 75,000 fans on the scene, the RideTech booth was a happening place to be!  Classic vehicles from thirty-seven states came out to show off their rides at the 400-acre facility, and three (nearly) full days of autocross definitely gave the spectators their money’s worth.  There were some weather-related delays on Friday and Sunday, but the good weather definitely outweighed the bad.

At this event, over 60 awe-inspiring cars competed for the coveted Street Machine and Street Rod of the Year awards.  The GoodGuys 2015 Classic Instruments Street Rod of the Year award went to Chuck Rowe and his ’37 Chevy by Bobby Alloway, and the GoodGuys 2015 Optima Batteries Street Machine of the Year award went to Sonny & Debbie Freeman’s ’67 Corvette by Mike Goldman Customs.  Over 120 of the event’s top cars also competed for other awards and filled the closing awards ceremony to the brim.  This event was phenomenal from every aspect, and we’ll be sure to attend again next year!

This event also featured a very tight and fast autocross, with the weekend’s highlight being the 6th annual Sponsor Shootout on Saturday.  The Sponsor Shootout was won by defending champion Danny Popp in his ’72 Corvette, who also took the top spot in the PRO-class.
