Tearing It Up In Texas: 2021 Lone Star Nationals

On September 24th-26th, more than 2,000 hot rods, customs and street machines took over Texas Motor Speedway for the Summit Racing Lone Star Nationals. Now in its 28th year, the event has grown into one of our favorite Goodguys shows on the calendar.

Texas Motor Speedway seats more than 180,000 fans, and its home to both NASCAR and IndyCar races. With its rich racing history dating back more than two decades, it’s the perfect place for the Lone Star Nationals.

From Friday through Sunday, the schedule was jam-packed with high-horsepower happenings. We especially enjoyed the “Big Hoss Shootout” on the Autocross course, which featured 16 of the country’s top cars spinning tires, dodging cones and racing against the clock.

Speaking of tires, the Nationals also featured a full-fledged burnout contest. The competition was fierce and fun, with everything from Tri-Five Chevys to fat-fendered Studebaker pickups gunning it for the gold. If that weren’t enough, there was also an excellent collection of vintage drag cars cackling and shooting flames at the Nitro Thunderfest.

Just like in years past, we were set up in the Manufacturers Midway with our Ridetech display rig. This time around we also brought our Ridetech Silverado, which features our air suspension system. We’ve been driving it all summer and it hasn’t missed a beat. (You can catch our Midwest backroad road trip recap here.)

Looking Forward

We would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to everyone who swung by our booth to say hi over the weekend. It’s been a fun summer filled with coast-to-coast events. We’re gearing up for more hot rod happenings in the coming months. Stay tuned!
