Top Fuel Father’s Day: NHRA National Hot Rod Reunion 2022

Over Father’s Day weekend, we made the trip to Bowling Green, Kentucky, for the NHRA National Hot Rod Reunion. Now in its 19th year, the three-day event brings some of the nation’s best drag cars to historic Beech Bend Raceway for an action-packed weekend.

Walking around the track is like taking a trip back in time to drag racing’s Golden Age. Gassers, Altereds, front-engined dragsters, Pro Stockers and more filled the staging lanes. For three-days straight, competitors ripped down the quarter mile.

The Hot Rod Reunion is part drag race, part car show and part living museum. Significant dragsters from the 1950s, ’60s and ’70s are on display, giving spectators an opportunity to see how things were really done back in the day. And when the sun goes down, the nitro-burning machines put on a spectacular display of fire and noise for the world-renowned Cacklefest.

We set up our Ridetech booth and Silverado on air in the pits, and we enjoyed catching up with old friends—and making new ones—all weekend long. The Hot Rod Reunion is always a fun event, and we’re already looking forward to next year.
