Tyler Gibson’s 47 Chevy

We have big respect for hotrod builders that can make the most out of everything. Builders who scavenge junk yards, browse Craigslist all day, and put pieces together that shouldn’t fit but somehow do. We have even bigger respect for them when they build a racing vehicle that (a.) pushes the limits, (b.) leaves out the frills and (c.) get results. Tyler Gibson is that guy and his 1947 Chevy proves it.

His 47 pickup is comprised of a S10 chassis, 47 Chevy Body, Small Block Engine, and Ridetech Triple Adjustable CoilOvers with StrongArms. Which makes sense when you see it all on an autocross. When you build a purposed vehicle for an autocross you can skip out on the looks, luxuries, and even some HP to a certain extent but a good suspension is a must. Tyler has put that theory to the test by running in several autocrosses across the States. And so far, he’s been very successful in putting up times that beat out all sorts of musclecar builds.

What we also like about what Tyler is doing is that he does a good job at documenting his progress and adjustments. For the past year he has made quite a few videos, posted on several forums, taken lots of pictures, and talked with a few magazines about his truck. Overall, this thing is catching a lot of eyes and if you haven’t seen it before then definitely check out the videos and pictures of it below:
