From the Rodfather tour: “For many, hot rodding is a family affair. That is certainly the case with several of the folks on the Rodfather Goodguys Road Tour. We wanted to hear the stories of what it was like growing up in a hot rodding family – the weekends at the races, the long road trips stuffed into a hot rod for hours on end with your siblings as well as what it is like to share this epic road trip with your son or daughter /. father or mother.
It was fitting that this part of the Rodfather Road Tour Story happened on the day we stopped off at Speedway Motors. This is a business that knows the value of keeping things in the family. Speedy Bill Smith told us “It is very challenging to try to get personal passion to flow through vanes” which is a profound statement from the 83 year old. We look at his four sons who are not only carrying on the family business, but preserving the History of Speed Museum as well, and say he’s managed to do a good job.”
